Exhibition
Critical research on the energy transition, GreenPaths project Earth Day exhibition
April 2 to 30, 2025
North/South Library, CES | Alta
Throughout the month of April, the GREENPATHS - European Knowledge Hub On Just Transition Pathways project presents a collection of new books and key texts for critical research on environmental and ecological issues, particularly in the context of current “energy transition” policies.
This exhibition is being held on the occasion of Earth Day, celebrated on April 22, whose theme this year is “our power, our planet” with an invitation to “unite in favour of renewable energies” and to “triple the global production of clean electricity by 2030”.
Based on the observation that the acceleration of renewable energy production has led to an intensification of energy consumption at the same time that new extractive projects are justified under the mantra of decarbonisation, we invite the community to reflect critically on these issues.
We believe that the new book collection can stimulate critical thinking and informed reflection on the social, economic and political impacts of “green” and “fair” energy transition policies.
To accompany this exhibition, the GreenPaths project invites you to a seminar that will welcome researchers, local movements and national associations, committed to collectively discussing the social and ecological impacts of the “green transition” in the Portuguese context. The seminar will take place on April 22nd, between 10am and 5pm [+ info]
GreenPaths is a Horizon Europe-funded project, comprised of a consortium of 13 partners in 10 countries, which aims to investigate the social impacts of ecological transition policy in Europe and beyond. The GreenPaths Knowledge Hub provides a range of materials tailored for and by policy makers, researchers, academics and members of civil society organisations.
