Ideas Kiosk

2025

The Ideas Kiosk is a RISE activity that aims to involve society in identifying current issues such as climate change, (bio)surveillance, health, and the production of disaster contexts, among others of interest to society. It aims to contribute to reflection, debate, collaborative construction of plural questions and answers, problematisation and/or resolution of issues that constitute risks, processes of vulnerability and/or problems concerning the relationship between people, other beings, their ecologies and places of living.

Inspired by topics that society identifies as controversial or insufficiently debated, the Ideas Kiosk intends to be a collaborative space for debate and innovation, through the sharing of knowledge, experiences and perspectives on the themes under analysis, based on direct contact with individual or collective entities sharing concerns or issues that they would like to see explored.

Each Ideas Kiosk will go through three phases:
1. Mapping questions and perspectives by listening to civil society (Wisdom of Crowds) on the topic under discussion, seeking to understand the position of citizens on the issue and raising the questions that society would like to ask the participants in the collective intelligence workshops;

2. The organisation of collective intelligence kiosks with the presence of guests. These Kiosks include short presentations by the Kiosk organisers and guests, followed by a talk with all the participants about the questions raised during the consultation phase;

3. Dissemination of the results to the participants and civil society through reports that will be freely available in the Ideas Kiosk experiences repository.

If you would like to receive information, propose new topics or other suggestions for the various sessions of the Ideas Kiosk, please contact us at riseqi@ces.uc.pt.
