This series is an initiative of the Doctoral Programme in Feminist Studies of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra (FLUC), in collaboration with the Centre for Social Studies (CES), which aims to promote critical reading sessions of literary works by women and gender-non-conforming authors from different geographical and cultural contexts. Discussions will be guided by theoretical contributions from feminist, gender, and queer studies, in their various forms.

This third series is coordinated by PhD candidates in Feminist Studies, Fabrina Souza and Iuri Lopes. The sessions will take place at 17:00, lasting approximately two hours, at the CES | Alta premises.

The series’ coordinators or participants will initially suggest the texts to be read, which will subsequently be announced during the meetings and on the initiative’s official website. Where possible, the selected texts will be emailed to registered participants. The discussion will be conducted in Portuguese, and where necessary in English and Spanish, with each participant free to use the edition and translation of their choice.

Subsequent readings will be decided collaboratively, based on the interests expressed by the group members.
