It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our colleague Vítor Murtinho.

Alongside his important work as a lecturer and the important positions he held over the years at DArq and in the UC Rectory, Vítor continued to demonstrate in recent conversations energy and motivation for his research and contribution to CES, particularly in the areas of Theory and History of Architecture, Representation, Construction and Heritage.

He was an important element when colleagues from the Department of Architecture joined CES in 2007 and in stimulating these dialogues.

He had a number of institutional responsibilities, in the management of FCTUC, DArq (where he was a Full Professor), and the Rectory over several years, but he continued to be involved in various research projects and in supporting CES, and today we commend his significance.
