Daniela Silvestre Jorge Ayoub


Biography

I am an interdisciplinary PhD student within the Human Rights in Contemporary Societies program (CES-IIIUC). My research and writing focuses on the the colonial roots intrinsic to historical, existing and emerging security infrastructure(s); the impersonation of threathood; the gaze of surveillance (and its return); intersections of art and activism; the relationship between archives, digital epistemologies and desecuritization. I hold a BA in Political Science (William Paterson University, USA), an MA in Management (Steinbeis University, Germany), and an MSc in Development and International Relations (Aalborg University, Denmark). My professional experience is primarily nestled within the health and educational sectors in the regions of SWANA, North America and Western Europe.  My research at III-CES is funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
