Filipa Saraiva


Biography

Filipa Saraiva has a degree in Sociology (2019) with a minor in International Relations from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra and a Master's degree (2023) in Political Science and International Relations: Security and Defence from the Institute of Political Studies of the Portuguese Catholic University, with the dissertation entitled "The Defining Crisis of our Time: Climate Change and Migration - A Comprehensive Approach on what to do about Climate Migrants". At the moment, she is a PhD student in Sociology of the State, Law and Justice at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra and the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra. Her socio-legal research interests mainly include the various themes of the sociology of migration, namely climate migration, citizenship and immigration, law and climate change and human rights and global justice. In addition, in the professional field she has acquired experience in diplomacy and external relations, as well as in executive education.
