Frederico Meco Milonga Rafael


Biography

Frederico Meco Milonga Rafael is a researcher and higher education lecturer, carrying out academic work in the fields of territory, risk, public policies, sustainable development, environment, and management. He is currently undertaking a PhD in Territory, Risk and Public Policies at the University of Aveiro and, since 2023, has been affiliated with the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (CES-UC) as a Research Trainee, where he participates in interdisciplinary scientific activities. He holds a Master's degree in Sustainable Development and Environmental Management (2022) and a Bachelor's degree in Administration and Management (2014) from the Polytechnic Institute of Lunda Sul, Lueji A'Nkonde University. His advanced academic pathway is distinguished by the completion of two postgraduate programmes at the University of Évora, which were fundamental to the consolidation of his expertise in environmental sciences and global policy: Postgraduate Programme in Sciences for Humanity's Coexistence with Our Severely Threatened Blue Planet (2023-2024); Postgraduate Programme in Globalisation and Development Challenges (2024-2025). This academic background is complemented by technical specialisations in Quality, Safety and Environment, Auditing of Quality, Environment and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, and an Introduction to QGIS, strengthening his analytical capacity and professional practice in environmental, territorial, and organisational management contexts. Since 2019, he has served as a Visiting Assistant Lecturer at the Polytechnic Institute of Lunda Sul, where he teaches courses such as Environmental Management and Environmental Legislation. Between 2022 and 2023, he also collaborated with Lusíada University of Angola, where he taught Organisational Behaviour. He regularly takes part in undergraduate dissertation defence panels and academic events, contributing presentations in the areas of sustainability, social inequality, and regional development. In the scientific domain, he is the author of several scientific articles and books, among which the most notable are: Social Inequality and Its Impact on the Sustainable Development of Lunda Sul (2020); The Implementation of ESG in the Mining Sector: Between the Rhetoric of Sustainability and Operational Reality; The Intersection between ESG and Global Geopolitics; and corresponding author of the book Reducing Social Inequality: The Role of Private Investment in Angola (2023), https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.7674941, published by IOLE Publishing.
