Hestia Delibas


Biography

Hestia-Ioana Delibas is PhD Candidate in the program "Democracy in the Twenty-First Century" linked to the Centre for Social Studies (CES) at the University of Coimbra. Her research focuses on social and environmental justice, feminist political ecology, and agrarian change. She holds a Master's degree in Advanced Sociological Research and a Bachelor's degree in Social Anthropology from Babes-Bolyai University. She has contributed to several international research projects, examining the green transition (Greenpaths Project), environmental conflicts in Romania (Ecojust Project), food movements in Portugal and Romania (JustFood Project), and migration in the context of deindustrialisation processes (PrecWork Project). She received a research scholarship awarded by FCT (Foundation for Science and Technology) for her doctoral research, focused on land grabbing conflicts. In parallel, she brings her research into public debate through essays, speculative storytelling, podcasts and mixed media on various online platforms.She is also a member of ECOSOC and RISE at CES.
