Mehmooda Maqsood


Biography

Mehmooda Maqsood is a doctoral candidate in the PhD programme Cities and Urban Cultures.She has a bachelors degree in Architecture Design from the National College of Arts Lahore, and a joint M.sc in Regional Planning Development and Management from Technical University of Dortmund, Germany and University of Austral Chile. Her Phd research project is an ethnographic study on everyday practices of Fisherfolk settlements in Karachi Pakistan, with Rehri Goth as a case study. Her interests include informal urbanism, fisherfolk communities and local knowledge. Her PhD project is funded by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT).
