It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our colleague Vítor Murtinho.

Along with his important work as a professor and the prominent positions he held over the years at DArq and the UC Rectory, Vítor continued to demonstrate in recent conversations his energy and motivation for his research and contribution to CES, particularly in the areas of Theory and History of Architecture, Representation, Construction, and Heritage.

He was an important figure when colleagues from the Department of Architecture joined CES in 2007 and in fostering these dialogues. He held a number of institutional responsibilities in the management of FCTUC, DArq (where he was a Full Professor), and the Rectory over several years, but he never ceased to remain involved in various research projects and in support of CES, and we acknowledge this contribution.
