Fernanda Paula Pinheiro


Biography

PhD student in Sociology at the University of Coimbra, Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra (FEUC), funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT, BD2023.00975). I hold a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and a Master's degree in Educational Sciences. My doctoral research, hosted by the Centre for Social Studies (CES), focuses on the project DEIinHEI - Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Students with Specific Educational Needs in Higher Education Institutions, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Paulo Peixoto. Between 2016 and 2024, I was a visiting researcher at the Centre for Studies in Education and Innovation (CI&DEI), Polytechnic of Leiria, Portugal. My research interests include sociology of education, educational policy, higher education studies, comparative education, and educational administration and management. Professionally, I am a member of the technical staff at the Polytechnic of Leiria, where my work has focused on the planning, management, monitoring, and evaluation of educational, training, and social development projects. My professional trajectory has contributed to the development of competencies in resilience, ethical and professional practice, volunteering, association building, collaboration, mentoring, and leadership.
