Biography

Doctoral candidate in the Sociology - Cities and Urban Cultures programme (FEUC/CES). He holds a Bachelor's degree in Tourism, Territory and Heritage from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra and a Master's degree in Tourism Management and Planning from the University of Aveiro. His master's research focused on the relationship between accessibility, urban transport and planning, analysing how these factors shape tourist experiences and mobility practices in the city of Coimbra. In Sociology - Cities and Urban Cultures, his doctoral research interests lie at the intersection of critical tourism studies, critical heritage studies, postcolonial theory, and struggles for racial representativeness, adopting an interdisciplinary perspective. Beyond academia, he is a queer activist and a member of the LGBTI+ association rede ex aequo, with a strong interest in gender and sexuality and experience in non-formal education in these fields.
