Lucas Augusto da Silva
Biography
Lucas Augusto da Silva holds a bachelor's degree in law at São Bernardo do Campo Law School, SP -Brazil, having completed his degree in 2013. Since then, he has worked as a lawyer until August 2016 in the areas of Business and Insurance Law. He completed his Master's degree in Sociology from the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences (ISCSP) of the University of Lisbon in March 2019, with the thesis entitled "Political Socialization and Digital Accessibility: The Experience of Brazilian High School Students". He was co-organizer and professor on the free course "Contemporary Brazil and Democracy: Political Problems, Legal and Cultural", held in January 2019 at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences (FCSH) of Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL). He is the author of the poetry book "Revelação", edited by Recanto das Letras, released in Brazil and Portugal in 2017 and also presented in Angola. He is a member of Coletivo Andorinha, a group of Brazilian immigrants in Lisbon who defend the democracy through the production of artistic and political content and narratives about the current situation in Brazil. He has experience in composition and music production on stage and studio, having worked in several projects in the area. He is currently a PhD student in Discourses: Culture, History and Society organized jointly by the Centre for Social Studies (CES), the Faculty of Letters (FLUC) and the Faculty of Economics (FEUC) of the University of Coimbra. His research interests are the transnational migratory processes (especially between Brazil, Lusophone Africa and Portugal), the poetic representations of immigration and the relationships between the concepts of diaspora, identification and poetic discourse.
