CES is the scientific host institution for students of the PhD Programmes in the application procedures for funding lines in the area.

Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation
Foundation for Science and Technology (applications for PhD scholarships until April 16, 2025; to apply for scientific hosting at CES in the scope of the FCT competition, interested applicants should consider the specific criteria available at CES website)
Luso-American Development Foundation
Student Services at the Embassies of Lusophone Africa.
The International Relations Unit of the University of Coimbra (DRIUC) regularly issues calls for mobility grants.
All students are encouraged to seek funding sources that are appropriate to their individual profile and to the subject matter of their research project. CES provides support in the various phases of the application process, from the verification of the eligibility conditions, to the process of issuing/verifying the documents supporting the application and reviewing the projects.
